The study moves from\u00a0colonial human exhibits in\u00a0London\u00a0to open-air concerts in Kolkata, from\u00a0heritage\u00a0Bengali\u00a0bazaar\u00a0art\u00a0to\u00a0cheap matchbox labels and frayed scrapbooks, and from the\u00a0late\u00a0nineteenth century to our world today.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/external-link-icon><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"w-constrained richtext\"><external-link-icon>\n<p>During the seminar, the author will share excerpts from the book and engage in a conversation with the audience.<\/p>\n<\/external-link-icon><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"w-constrained richtext\"><external-link-icon>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sok.statensmusikverk.se\/Record\/2792274?sid=8150190\">The book is available to borrow from us.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/external-link-icon><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"w-constrained richtext\"><external-link-icon>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About Dr Prarthana Purkayastha<\/h2>\n<\/external-link-icon><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"w-constrained richtext\"><external-link-icon>\n<p>Dr Prarthana Purkayastha is Reader in Dance and Performance Studies at Royal Holloway University of London. She is the author of <em>Indian Modern Dance, Feminism and Transnationalism<\/em> (2014, Palgrave Macmillan), which won the de la Torre Bueno Prize and the Outstanding Publication Award from Dance Studies Association.<\/p>\n<\/external-link-icon><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"w-constrained richtext\"><external-link-icon>\n<p>She is co-editor, with Anurima Banerji, of the <em>Oxford Handbook of Indian Dance<\/em> (2026, OUP New York).
